Ski schools and ski areas in the Grossarl Valley tourism region

The Grossarl Valley is situated on a fog-free high altitude about 70 km south of the Mozart city Salzburg in the district of Pongau.

The Grossarl Valley with its two communities Grossarl and Hüttschlag separates the Hohe from the Niedere Tauern. It is an offshoot of the Radstädter Tauern and is therefore the easternmost Tauern Valley. With a length of 27 km, it is one of the longest Tauern valleys along with the Gasteiner and Rauris valleys. It extends from the Arlscharte (2,252 m) in the Hohe Tauern National Park via Hüttschlag (1,020 m) and Grossarl (924 m) to the Liechtensteinklamm gorge.

Due to the density of cultivated alpine pastures, the Grossarl Valley has been given the nickname the Valley of Alpine pastures. About 40 alpine huts await you in Großarl and Hüttschlag. As the most charming cul-de-sac in the world, the Grossarl Valley is in season all year round and offers wonderful hiking, mountain and mountain bike tours in summer.

But also other sports and leisure activities such as swimming, tennis, mini golf, beach volleyball, fishing, wellness or walking are very popular in the Grossarl Valley. We have brought the alpine pastures into the valley for the children - at the large adventure playground "Rucki Zucki's Gaudi-Alm", young and old can enjoy themselves.

In winter, the valley is known for its excellent skiing facilities as part of Ski amadé - Austria's greatest skiing pleasure. 73 km of slopes and a great offer with Skikeriki, free W-Lan, resting places, fun area and children's area complete the offer. Thus the ski area Großarltal-Dorfgastein is a ski area for all levels of ability as well as for families.

But also winter hikers, cross-country ski
