From which year on can the children attend a ski or snowboard course?

There are different age limits at the ski schools, at most ski schools children from 3 - 4 years can start. 

Some ski schools also offer offers for children under the age of 3, here the playful handling in the snow.

For the snowboard courses for children we recommend to start from 7 - 8 years, this is handled differently from ski school to ski school.

Is the equipment/equipment already included in the ski school prices?

No, the sports equipment must be borrowed or purchased independently of the ski school. With some ski schools on our site, the equipment can be booked at the same time. Just have a look & book! 

 

Is the ski pass included in the course price?

No, the ski passes have to be bought separately. In some ski resorts children under 5 - 6 years do not need a ski pass. The tariffs can be requested online from the respective ski resorts.

 

Is it still possible to book lunch for the children on site?

Almost all ski schools offer the possibility of booking lunch on site. In the high season it can happen that there is no free capacity for lunch on site. We kindly ask you to clarify this directly with the Ski & Snowboard School in advance.

 

Is there a helmet obligation?

Minors up to the age of 15 must wear a standard winter sports helmet when skiing on ski slopes.

The obligation to wear a helmet only applies in the following provinces of Austria: Salzburg, Upper Austria, Styria, Lower Austria, Carinthia, Burgenland and Vienna. 

In Tyrol and Vorarlberg there are currently no legal regulations. Vorarlberg has only issued a public recommendation for the wearing of ski helmets.

 

Do group courses also take place on Saturdays?

In most ski schools the group courses start Sunday & Monday for beginners, in the advanced courses the entrance is possible at any time. There is no group course on Saturday.

Private lessons are every day possible (from Sunday to Saturday).

 

Do beginners also need a ski pass?

As a beginner, you may not need a ski pass on the first day, or you may only need a ticket for the practice lifts, or you may not need a full-day ticket. 

Children between the ages of 5 and 6 are transported free of charge in most ski resorts. Many ski schools also offer their own practice area for children and no ski pass is required on the first day.

Do the ski course days have to be taken one after the other?

The days should follow one after the other, because the groups continue with the program and learn something new every day. A break could bring a change of group. It is best to discuss this with your ski instructor or ski school.

 

Can our children join a group together?

The children in the ski schools are primarily divided into groups according to their skiing ability and age. So if your children or your friends are equally good skiers, we ask you to inform the ski school about your wish when you schedule your course on the first day! Should the children not be able to ski equally well, however, the children who ski better must take the weaker consideration!

 

How many students are in a group?

Since the groups are grouped by ability and age, we cannot tell you how many students will be in the group. 

The minimum number of participants for a group course varies between 3 - 4 persons - the maximum group size between 7 - 12, this varies from ski school to ski school.
